Happy New Year! Now I'm not one who's ever been all bubbly and peppy about the new year. Yes, I love fresh starts. Yes, I love to have goals and get organized. But I've never been over the top with lofty unattainable goals and then crash and get depressed two months later. So hear me out on this...
This year feels different. I feel it deep in my soul that there's change around the corner. There's a bubbling overflow of hope in my spirit. It feels like this year is not just a fresh start or even a new chapter, so to speak, but a whole entire new book! That 2024 is the beginning of a whole new era.
There is a rumbling in the spirit realm. This year is going to be a year of exposure in the body of Christ. It's already been happening, but it's going to get bigger. The line is drawn in the sand. Which side are you on? There's going to be things revealed that will shake us to the core. Our whole idea of what the world is supposed to be like, what we learned in school that wasn't actually the truth, music artists/pastors/leaders who had us fooled, our entire governmental systems, and a whole lot more.
So what should be our goals for the year? Of course the physical goals are great:
eat a cleaner diet, cut out sugar, lower the consumption of processed foods
drink more water, stay hydrated
add an extra hour of sleep each night, get more rest
exercise, get outside, move your body, frequent walks
But the spiritual goals are a MUST for 2024!
Get back in the Word: read your Bible. With so much deception in the world and in the churches, we need to have sharp discernment. The sword aka the Bible is just the thing needed to sharpen it. Two words: Bible revival.
Fear of the Lord needs to come back into the Body of Christ. Reverential respect for God. Honor. Get off the throne of your life, and put God back on there. All eyes on Jesus. Period.
Repentance. Yes, I said it. There's been so much mixture in the church, that it's high time to repent and purge everything out of your mind, life, and house, that's not of God. How do you know? Well, read your scriptures, ask Holy Spirit.
Family. Why family? Well, everyone's crying out for revival. God's not going to send a mighty revivalist to set us all on fire. Nope, WE are God's hands and feet and He's in the business of family. Pray, fast, pick up your spiritual sword, mighty men & women of God! WE are called to stand up for our marriages, children, households. Revival is going to happen through families.
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Lord, plant this verse deep down in our souls. YOU are our source of hope for 2024! We exalt you over every area of our lives. Our marriages will be restored. The prodigals will come home. Our families will be knit together in good godly bonds. Our families will be healed from all past hurts, wounds, and traumas. We will shine the light of Jesus to the hurting and broken. Your church, Jesus, will be purged and restored! All demonic assignments against Your people will be broken by Your name, Jesus, and by your blood. Debts will be cancelled. Finances will be restored to do Your work in this world. As we turn to repentance, You will restore to us the years that were taken from us and Your Spirit will be poured out, according to Joel 2:12-29. Thank you, Lord, for your Psalm 91 protection! We praise you alone, Jesus, and exalt you over our lives for this year. In Your mighty name we pray, amen.
