This word was rolling around in my head this morning.....tenacity. So I looked it up.
The quality or fact of being able to grip something firmly, being very determined, persistence. Courage, resolution, mental/moral strength to resist opposition, danger, or hardship. Firmness of mind & will in the face of extreme difficulty.
Don't give up. I feel this big time. My whole life could be wrapped up in this word. How about you? Do you have the tenacity to move forward? In whatever situation that you are facing right now, no matter how big or small, do you feel that fire burning to press forward? If you do, I applaud you and I pray for more fuel to feed that fire to help you finish your race. If you don't, can I offer some encouragement?
You are enough. You are seen. You are loved. Hope is not lost. You will move past this. You are so much stronger than you realize.
You will come through this. Take it from someone who has pressed through a lot in life: parents' divorce, abusive relationships, abortion, drug/alcohol addictions, marriage issues, father's suicide....just to name a few.
Did I do it in my own strength? Did I just happen to be a person who has the special sauce to shoulder burdens? Did I call upon the universe for special light or peace? No, nope, no way. It was all Jesus. The key is to not let the hard things in life drive a bitter wedge between you and God. It's not His fault those things are happening. We live in a fallen world. The enemy would love nothing more than for you to shake your fist at God and blame Him. Instead, be honest with God and your frustrations, your hurt, your pain. Take it to Him. Throw it at His feet and collapse into His arms. He will give you the strength, the tenacity. Then once you are through this, you will be so much stronger, more mature, and able to help others.
Jesus, touch everyone that is reading this right now. Whisper to their heart. Show them how much they are loved and cared for. Overwhelm them with your presence, Holy Spirit. Hold them in your arms and give them the tenacity they need to move forward in peace and victory. Amen.
Here are just a few songs that have helped me on my journey. Just close your eyes and let the lyrics wash over you: You're Gonna Be Okay , It Is Well , Steady Heart , Trust In You
I look up to the mountains and hills, longing for God's help. But then I realize that our true help and protection is only from the Lord, our Creator who made the heavens and the earth. He will guard and guide me, never letting me stumble or fall. God is my keeper; he will never forget nor ignore me. Psalms 121:1-3
